Continuing to Un-Neglect

So.

It's been just over two months -- par for the course, I say.

At any rate things are shaking up something horrendous around here. The facility at which I am employed is being closed down in February, and even though my department is not technically within their reporting structure, we are on their budget, and that's good enough for us to be Less Than Optimistic these days. So resumes are getting dusted off, and if our workload continues its trend of being on the lighter side, we may end up devoting the majority of our time to team-building activities and knowledge sharing (in order that we might be better prepared for our next employment opportunity).

There's a theoretically non-zero chance that we might end up staying as a team, just working for a different company. Frankly, I think that'd rock. But we'll see what happens.

In other shaking-up news, last Sunday I was presented with the opportunity to assist in the facilitation of musical operations at a church I've been helping out at. Of course, it has to be an hour and a half away, but it's really kind of exciting business, and exACTly the sort of thing I would have jumped on during, say, my junior year of college. Right now, this is hardly a door that I had expected to open, so I'm trying to come to terms with that. But still: really excited!

And that's it for now. A lot can happen in two months, but if that's the interval at which you're writing about it, you sort of realize that a lot of what did happen would fall under the category of "Not Terribly Significant."
