*flop*
Right, so I've already dropped below the two-posts-per-week goal, but this has just been a super busy month. I was out of town the past two weekends - helped renovate a church up in Central Florida last weekend, and just got back half an hour ago from visiting an old college friend in Kentucky. During the week, there's been a fair amount of work-related stuff, and in between all of that I'm trying to make up a couple martial arts classes so that I can test for my next belt this month. So it's been pretty hectic.
Anyway, it was a fantastic weekend, spent mostly in laughter, and when we weren't laughing we were eating or seeing Newsboys, Switchfoot, Chris Tomlin, and a handful of other bands that I hadn't heard of. And the weather was great; that is, dry, which (all other things being equal) is enough to make me a happy Floridian.
Now I must go to bed, since the Work Week still exists.

Delayed Reaction
Last week, a woman at work who I didn't really know asked me if I was Wolverine. I said "no," but I realize now what the proper response would have been.
Oh well.

Last Minute Post
Well, it's a bit late on a Sunday evening, and I've got to get up for work tomorrow at (hopefully) around 6:00. However, I'd like to commit to at least two postings a week, just to get myself in the habit of regular writing. Therefore, here goes nothin':
First things first, I would like to extend a hearty welcome to anyone visiting from proteinwisdom. In spring of 2006, I had the good fortune of stumbling upon said blog via that of Doug Tennapel, who was still maintaining his own blog at that point in time. I was hooked and quickly reeled in by Jeff's poetry, especially his haiku on the subject of Michael Moore. From there on out, I was constantly impressed by the linguistic/philosophical perspective with which he so adeptly approached issues (almost to the point where I would do a shot each time I read the word "narrative").
Anyway, again, welcome. And allow me to express my sincere gratitude to the folks who've offered me lodging while I conduct this expedition -- although, not realizing that proteinwisdom was aware of my having linked to them, my first thoughts upon seeing such comments were more along the lines of "how did these people FIND me?!" -- I am indeed appreciative, and in a state of slight wonder that people of such generosity exist in such a world as ours. Unfortunately, as hinted at in my first post, I am compelled to delay my journey until I have solidified my financial situation. I expect this to be accomplished by 2010, at which point I will toss my luggage in the trunk of my car and hop in without a second glance. Until then, however, I didn't want people to be in perpetual anticipation of a mysterious Floridian's knock on their door.
Well, bedtime draws near, and I grow sleepy; later this week I'll write a bit about myself, where I'm coming from, where I'm going, etc.
